Personal stories, memories and histories of individuals fascinate me very much. They represent us and the way we work as a society.

Also within this context, I am continuously researching my grandfather’s life during the second world war.”

Matthijs Rouw is a documentary photographer from Haarlem - Netherlands. He is currently following BA photography course at the Royal Academy of Art, the Hague - Netherlands

Next to being a photographer, Matthijs holds an MA degree in Interactive Multimedia and works as an Interaction Designer, being responsible for usability and user experience in interactive media and software development.
